Peter Callesen - Castle
Castle
Performance, Goldsmiths College, 19th - 28th of January 1999
A performance the artist new would fail, due to the resources used and the state of the environment he was assembling the piece in. cardboard is non-durable and therefore an nonpermanent resource, just like a dream, or a fleeting sight of fantasy, it is permeable installation. To build a piece knowing it is going to fail, what does this mean? if this is not important, does the work become all about the process, and the struggle of the efforts of the creator in creating the work?
